Aborginal Landscapes - Gordon Mallonee

at some point this semester we watched a movie about the aborigines in Australia. their way of life has been shattered and now there are very few who still follow the old ways. the man who was a park ranger was living in both worlds. he was part of society today but he was also interesting understanding the past and how people use to respect the land and the different rituals that they preformed. the one that stands out in my mind most is when they were in a cave painting on the walls. they would hold there hand up to the wall and then spit white paint over it so as to leave a dark hand print on the wall. i feel that it is important for people to understand their past and where they came from and its even better when people want to follow the traditions of the past and teach them to others.
