Feedom with responsibility zach fauver

Genesis 2:15-17 “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, “Your are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil for when you eat of it you will surely die.”
Many people in the Church today are under the impression that the earth is ours for the taking to be used and abused or to be consumed like a thanksgiving dinner. There is no Biblical evidence to back up this point of view. Some even argue that signs are showing that the end times are near so there is no point in trying to conserve the environment. But this is just man trying to be smarter then they really are absolutely no excuse because Jesus says in Mathew that, “No one knows abut that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son.” It is clear from scripture that man was given the responsibility to “work and take care of” the earth. He gives us freedom but with that freedom comes responsibility. God gave Adam total freedom, except for the one minor limitation of staying away from one tree. And this was only for his protection. In the same way God gives us the freedom to work and enjoy the earth that He gave us, but also to take care of it. Growing food for you or your family is working and taking care of the earth. But destroying rainforests and other species natural habitats is being poor stewards and acting contrary to instructions that God gave to man.
